Tufted Titmouse
Scientific nameBaeolophus bibolor

The Tufted Titmouse or scientifically known as is a little blue and grey bird. They have large black eyes, small round bill and a brushy crest. They live in the woods, typically in areas with dense canopy. Often found in backyards, parks, and orchards. A lot of time they will just eat food that is left by humans. The young are born without feathers and stay in the nest for the first few days after they are born.

Architecture style

Our design was inspired by “being one with nature” from Frank Lloyd Wright. As this house blends in with the nature of the area, we hope that our bird house will do the same. We want it to feel “normal” to the incoming birds.

The Design Process

Going through how we came to where we are with the design. Everyone in our group researched a bird and a type of architecture. The top five designs from each class period that met the requirements according to the specific bird and the requirements that we have for the materials we are going to be using in the classroom. The houses got picked and then we got put into groups. So the design of our group’s bird house was Letty's. Once we got into our groups we talked about what changes that were going to be made in order to make it “perfect” to what we need to meet all the goals. And now we are here with our design. Putting the final things together inside our design software getting ready to cut the pieces and make the physical birdhouse.
